The 2 and 3rd sections are the original 6B, the others were added when it was modified from 1KW to 5KW. From the left end were, 1- Power control, 2-H.V. rectifier bay, 3- Oscillator and 1st amplifier, 4- 2nd and 3rd amplifiers, 5- modulator and final amplifier, 6- antenna tuning section. The modulator and final were direct water cooled. They used Pyrex glass piping and ceramic isolators; it was a lot of fun when a glass pipe broke. |
